1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB.
MeFirst is a web-first Progressive Web App. We use cookies and browser storage primarily for authentication, security, and product functionality.
2. Essential Cookies & Storage
These are required for the Platform to function and are always active when you use corresponding features:
•
Firebase Authentication session / IndexedDB — keeps you signed in securely via Google Sign-In
•
Cart state (local storage) — preserves multi-appointment cart contents and checkout options during a session
•
Schedule cache (local storage) — temporarily caches Shop free/busy data to reduce repeated reads while browsing booking slots
•
Page-view dedupe key (session storage) — prevents double-counting a visit metric in the same browser session/day
3. Advertising Cookies (When Enabled)
If Google AdSense is enabled on mefirst.ie, Google and its partners may set or read cookies and use advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where permitted by your browser/settings and applicable law.
You can learn more in Google's advertising and privacy documentation and manage ad personalisation via Google's tools and your browser controls.
4. Map & Third-Party Requests
Map display requests OpenStreetMap-style tiles and related open geocoding/routing endpoints. Those network requests are necessary to show maps and travel estimates and may be logged by those operators under their own policies.
5. Managing Cookies
You can block or delete cookies and clear site storage through your browser settings. Blocking essential authentication storage will prevent login and booking features from working correctly.
For Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies. For Safari: Settings → Privacy.
6. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add new features. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
